Alumni, Parents, and Friends -
As we look back at the 2019-20 school year, it is easy to allow the cloud of COVID-19 to blind us from what was making for an incredible year at 1 Crusader Way. As you flip through the pages of the Twin Towers: Annual Report, you’ll see new faces in our school leadership, highlights of our students' accomplishments and their desire for excellence, and how we successfully navigated the academic challenges of COVID-19.
Whether you gave a gift, volunteered at a school function, double-tapped an instagram post, traveled through playoffs, or attended a performance, you demonstrated support for our Crusaders and for that, we thank you. My pride for our alma mater deepened when I saw firsthand the commitment to our students by our alumni and parents when the COVID-19 crisis erupted. Many of you stepped up, even when your financial situations were unsure, by supporting our families in-need so they could continue their educational careers as Crusaders. Thank you.
To our current parents and parents of alumni, I want to specifically thank you for giving your child the most beautiful gift - a gift of a Bishop McDevitt education. You chose to make sacrifices so that your child could receive a challenging education rooted in faith. I reap the benefits of this gift (thanks mom and dad!) and have witnessed how transformative it is in our current students and alumni.
As you go through our list of donors, you’ll see the groundwork of giving that has been laid for Bishop McDevitt High School. This foundation is strong; however, there is work still to be done. We will continue The Legacy Campaign: The Campaign for Bishop McDevitt High School as a comprehensive campaign to support our operational needs, scholarship and endowments and capital improvements. I look forward to aligning your passions with our needs through this campaign so that you can leave an everlasting legacy on Bishop McDevitt.
Thank you for putting your faith, confidence and trust in Bishop McDevitt High School. Thank you for your unwavering support of our students and of all things McDevitt. And as we approach a new academic year and continue to navigate uncharted waters of the COVID-19 pandemic, please keep our McDevitt students, families, faculty and staff in your prayers as you and your family are in mine.
Yours in Blue & Gold,
Erin Connaghan ‘08 Davis
