The Bishop McDevitt Music Department offers many exciting opportunities for young instrumentalists in 5th through 8th grades. Each child receives a weekly 20-minute lesson, which allows your child to participate in their respective school’s concert bands. The Bishop McDevitt Elementary Band program is offered to students attending Harrisburg Catholic, Holy Name of Jesus, Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St Catherine Laboure, St Joan of Arc, and St Margaret Mary.

A few of the performance opportunities for elementary/middle school students:

• Christmas / Spring Concerts
• "Buddy Night" with the Crusader Marching Band
• Middle School Jazz Band
• Middle School Band Day
• DCMEA County Band Festivals (audition/selection process)
