Dear Crusader Family,
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27-8)
The past few days have been overwhelming for our school community and our community at large. Many of us have questions about the events that have been unfolding in our society and how this will affect us directly. There is no better time than now for our Bishop McDevitt family to rally together as we embark on a new educational journey over the next few weeks.
Parents, please know that you and your children are not alone. Together, we will experience a new learning curve with the online learning initiative, and our administration and faculty are prepared to pave the way. The school-wide cyber program over the next few weeks will further prepare our students for a life beyond Bishop McDevitt. This program will teach our students how to learn in a different fashion and manage study time, something they will experience in college and in the real world. Any student that is having difficulty through this process is asked to communicate with their teachers and counselors directly via email.
It was the philosopher Heraclitus who said, “there is nothing permanent except change”. We will continue to go through many changes over the next few weeks, but we will embrace these changes and make decisions that are the best for our school community. There is still much uncertainty but our administration will communicate regularly on each new dynamic and assure you that no student or family will go through this journey alone.
Thank you to our administration, faculty, and staff for embracing this new challenge with faith and fortitude. Thank you to our parents and students for your support and understanding. We will continue to stand faithfully together – McDevitt strong and Crusader proud.
