Dear Crusader Family,
“Behold, I have left an open door before you, which no one can close.”
I want to wish everyone a joyous Sunday. Please know you are all in my prayers. There have been multiple meetings over the last few weeks regarding the status of school. Latin proverb states, Ubi concordia, ibi Victoria; Where there is unity, there is victory. As we continue to face the challenges that lie ahead, know that a unified community will succeed. Principal Harper, the administrative team and our faculty, continue to work tirelessly together to ensure we provide any and all assistance necessary during this transition. Our mission is to continue to educate our students and develop a foundation of a new normal for our families.
Over the past few weeks, I have heard from many of our students and families. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge how well our school community is handling this situation. We are rising above the hand dealt to us and we are overcoming the challenges. I am extremely proud of our team, students and families. Thank you for your patience, efforts and understanding.
As we enter into the third week of our online curriculum, I have a few requests and reminders. Students, I implore you to continue to work and keep your studies moving forward. Seniors, continue to stay engaged and show your leadership to the younger classes. Parents, I ask you to help your student develop management strategies that will keep them focused but still have fun and downtime. Most importantly, I ask families to come together in prayer and set aside family time daily.
Bishop McDevitt is resilient and despite not being in the halls every day, we are operating as one virtual community. We are diligently working to engage our community socially and over the next few weeks we will be hosting virtual coffees and several virtual challenges on our social media pages. I encourage everyone to participate.
Faculty and students, know that you are missed in the school building. The halls are not the same without you. Week three is upon us but we will continue to stand faithfully together – McDevitt strong and Crusader proud.
