NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE

What is the NCAA Clearinghouse?

The NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse is an organization that determines a student’s eligibility for athletics participation in Division I or Division II sports during the first year of college enrollment.

Students who want to participate in college sports during their first year of enrollment in college must register with the NCAA after speaking with their current coach about the athletic opportunities available to them.

The NCAA will determine the eligibility of all freshman and transfer prospective student-athletes for initial participation at an NCAA Division I or II member institution. In Division III, certification of an individual’s amateurism status is completed by each institution, not the NCAA. You do not need to register with the NCAA for Division III athletics.

When should I register with the NCAA Clearinghouse?

Register for the clearinghouse preferably during your sophomore or junior year of high school. The athletics participation section should be updated regularly.

How do I register with the NCAA Clearinghouse?

To register with the NCAA Clearinghouse Eligibility Center, go online to www.elgibilitycenter.org. To create an account, either click on the “New Account” button at the top right of the screen or the cell phone on the left side of the screen

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Send SAT/ACT Scores: All SAT and ACT test scores must be reported to the clearinghouse directly from the testing agency. When registering for the SATs or ACTs, input the clearinghouse code of 9999 to make sure that scores are reported directly to the clearinghouse.

Send High School Transcript: Send an official transcript to the Eligibility Center. If you have attended more than one high school, the Eligibility Center will need official transcripts from all high schools attended. (The Eligibility Center does NOT accept faxed transcripts or test scores.)

Final Transcripts: Following graduation, request final transcripts be sent to the NCAA Clearinghouse. They will need a transcript with proof of graduation.
