Basketball - Boys

Coach Picture Bishop McDevitt High School is excited to announce the hiring of new Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach, Jason Grace. Jason was most recently a Head Coach at St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus in the Harrisburg Diocese where, for the past 12 seasons he built a state caliber boys program leading them to an overall record of 343-83. Jason led St. Theresa’s to their only PA State CYO Championship in school history during the 2018 season as well as the 2023 State Runner up this past season. He helped them capture their first Harrisburg Diocese Championship in 63 years in 2011 and then again in 2013, 2017,2018, 2022 & 2023.

During this tenure his youth skill development work turned out a number of nationally ranked high school basketball prospects, many of which went on to play at the major Division 1 collegiate level.Previous to taking over the St Theresa’s CYO program Jason spent two seasons as an assistant varsity coach with his alma mater Trinity High School alongside legendary Hall of Fame coach Larry Kostelac Jr. Those Shamrocks teams he worked with enjoyed major success and compiled some of the best overall records in the history of Trinity basketball.

An accomplished player himself, Jason scored over 1,000 pts in his career while leading the 1997Shamrocks his senior year to a 29 - 2 overall record as captain of the Trinity team which won the PIAA District 3 AA championship and then saw its season ended in the PA State Eastern Final falling just shy of a state championship game appearance. Jason is a member of Trinity’s distinguished Wall of Honor. Jason went on to play four seasons of Division 1 basketball at Mount St. Mary’s University for Hall of Fame head coach Jim “Bow Tie” Phelan where he helped lead his 1999 Mountaineers to the Northeast Conference Tournament championship earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as a sophomore. As a senior he was named Co-Captain by his fellow teammates.

In addition to his coaching and playing experience, Jason is an accomplished local businessman where he is currently the CEO & Managing Principal of his commercial real estate firm, Landmark Commercial Realty, Inc. based in Camp Hill PA. He earned a M.S. In Corporate Real Estate from The Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University. Jason is happily married to his wife Lauren and they are the proud parents of six wonderful children. McDevitt has a long tradition of basketball excellence going back many years. In the last decade alone, the Crusaders have won two District III Championships, a Mid Penn Tournament Championship, three Keystone Division Championships, had a PIAA state semifinal appearance, two PIAA quarterfinal appearances, and had many graduates play at the collegiate level.
