Before you begin on this assignment, as a group discuss the following questions:

How would you describe your personal image of Jesus?  Be specific!  For instance, what skin tone did Jesus have?  What  color of eyes and hair did he have? What about Mary? Share this with your group.

As a group, come up with a group's image of Jesus and Mary.

You must submit your group name, individual roles, and the collective image of Jesus and Mary to S. Gabrielle by OCTOBER 20th!

 

As a group, you will decide upon your collective image of Jesus and Mary.  Taking this information, your group will be divided into 4 team members.  Each member will be responsible for the activities and research described. Then, as a group, you will synthesize your research and create a PowerPoint presentation. You will use your PowerPoint program to guide you in your presentation.   Your presentation has to include the following points:

Your group's image of Jesus and Mary
The history of artistic images of Jesus and Mary
An image of an icon of Jesus and/or Mary and its explanation.  Besides this, indicate why this image matches your group's definitions.
An image from the Renaissance period of Church art.  Besides this, indicate why this image matches your group's definitions.
A modern image of Jesus and/or Mary and its explanation.  Also, indicate why this image matches your group's definitions.

You might also include a fact or belief in society that caused the people to see God in this image.

Your presentation might include some type of appropriate music.
