Dear Bishop McDevitt Parents,
Bishop McDevitt will again be admitting students from China for the 2016-17 school year. This program is in partnership with Twinn Palms, a firm that organizes the homestay component. We anticipate 20 Chinese students in grades 9-11, all of whom will need homestay families.
As we approach the end of 2015-16, we will need to begin vetting more families to ensure that all our Chinese students are well accommodated. Before we open up the homestay opportunity to the greater community, we want to give you, our McDevitt family, priority to express interest in this meaningful program. Thank you to those whom have already replied. For your consideration, host families will receive $850.00 per month for each month that a student is in their home. In return, host families will provide meals, transportation to and from school and events, a bedroom for each student, and wireless internet connection. In addition, host families will be required to complete a background screening, an on-site home visit, and an Orientation. Medical insurance, uniforms and other campus expenses are covered through the tuition and fees paid by the family in China.
If you are interested, but not able to commit to an entire school year, there is also a need for Welcome Families. These are Homestay Families that host students for a shorter period of time. This occurs when there are unexpected circumstances and the Homestay Families need to leave the area, etc… If you would choose to commit to an entire school year next year, then you would be well prepared.

Thank you for your support of this program and your continued prayers for its success.
