World History and Culture I - highlights the world's greatest civilization from ancient times to the Age of Napoleon. Grade 9 (A)

World History and Culture Studies - studies the world history from the Development of the Ancient Civilizations to the Present Cultural changes in the World. Grade 9 (B)

Humanities History I - begins with the origins of the universe and ends. The historical framework coordinates with the literature and includes philosophy, religion, anthropology, science, art, and music. Grade 9 (H)

Humanities History II - begins with the Renaissance and continues to the present. Grade 10 (H)

Modern World Studies - is in two semesters a study of geography, globes, and graphs; and a survey study focused on war and peace in the major conflicts to assail the 19th and 20th century. Grade 10 (A) (B)

British Studies - analysis of the period of Medieval England with an in-depth study of the reigns of English Kings from Richard II to Richard III. Grade 10 (A)

American History I/Government - survey course in American History through the end of the Civil War. Grade 11 (A) (B) (H)

American Government (elective) - begins with a study of the Constitution and then proceeds with a study of the federal, state and local government. Grade 11 and 12

American History II/Economics - looks at the United States from the period of the Reconstruction up to present day. Grade 12 (A) (B) (H)

Psychology (elective) - designed as a general introduction to psychology. It includes the history, basis of behavior, perception, learning, memory, intelligence, developmental psychology, personality, abnormal behavior, and treatment and social psychology. Grade 11, 12.  Psychology is offered as a dual credit course.  This means that students can receive McDevitt credit plus three college credits in psychology.

African-American Studies (elective) - studies the culture, history, and people of Africa, starting with the earliest civilizations through the slave trade. It then shifts to the history of African people in the U.S. from the earliest slaves to the present. Grade 11, 12

Advanced Placement United States History - A.P. U.S. History is a challenging course that is meant to be the equivalent of a freshman college course is taken during one's senior year and strongly emphasizes Unites States history from Reconstruction to the present.  Solid reading and writing skills, along with a willingness to devote considerable time to homework and study, are necessary to succeed.  An approximate fee of $80.00 will be collected from each student in order to pay for the A.P. examination in May.
