There was only one way for the Bishop McDevitt Boys' Track and Field Team to top their impressive showing at this year's District III-AA Boys' Track and Field meet: by winning the States. Mission accomplished.

On Saturday May 23, just three days before graduation, the team crowned a fantastic year with the PIAA Boys AA Track and Field State Title. It is the second State Title in school history. The last State Title Trophy to find it's way into the trophy case in Tracy Hall was the 1995 AA State Football Title.

The day was marked by impressive finishes by seniors Joe Beveridge, Chris Houston, and Quentin Walker. Beveridge struck gold in the 3200 Meter Run, Houston found his way to the top of the winner's podium through the 100 Meter Dash, and Walker ruled the High Jump, recording an impressive 6-6 mark.

Beveridge and Houston also snagged Bronze medals in the 1600 Meter Run and 200 Meter Dash, respectively. Not to be out done by the Class of 2009, Jonathan Duckett, a junior, took home a Bronze for his performance in the Discus throw.

Congratulations to all the members of the Track and Field Team, Head Coach Dan McGinnis, and the entire Coaching Staff.
