INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Thank you for your interest in Bishop McDevitt High School. We look forward to welcoming your future Crusader to our McDevitt family. As we wind down this school year and get ready for the next, here is what you need to know...

  • Any 8th grade student that did not take the mandatory High School Placement Test can register for two more test dates: Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 12:15pm or Monday, June 10, 2013 at 8:30am at Bishop McDevitt High School. HSPT registration forms may be downloaded from our website (see below). The HSPT registration form and $30 testing fee must be submitted by May 31, 2013. Admission applications and course selections cannot be processed until this test is taken and scored. After this date, HSPT will need to be scheduled as time permits with Mrs. Jill Hanes, Director of Admissions. The delay may affect course selection and availability.
  • For a copy of the High School Placement Test Registration Form, click here.
  • For those students who have taken Algebra I in 8th grade, received a final grade of 90% or above, and scored above 75% (Honors) on the Math portion of the HSPT, an Algebra I Exam will be given to those students who feel they are capable to test out of Alg. I. This exam will be given on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Bishop McDevitt High School. This test will begin at 1:00pm and should conclude before 2:30pm. Only students who meet the qualifications may request this test. To register please call Mrs. Jill Hanes at 236-7973. Students who pass the Algebra I Exam will be placed in Honors Geometry.
  • There will be eight dates over the summer for Freshmen Orientation. Your freshman must select one of the dates. These morning meetings will begin with a prayer service, overview of procedures, study skills, schedules, locks, and much, much more. Tentatively, these dates are scheduled for July 29, 30, 31 and August 1, 5, 6, 7, 8.  A letter will be sent to all registered students and will also be in church bulletins.
