PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

The faculty of the Business and Technology Department of Bishop McDevitt High School recognizes our obligation to train competent young people, and we are aware of our responsibilities to educate the whole person to become economically literate and understanding and appreciative of the functions of business in the American society.

In this department, the principles of integrity, industry, social adjustment, and achievement are fostered for the development of an integrated personality.

Course offerings are evaluated and adjusted on a yearly basis in order to keep pace with the rapid developments being made in this highly automated world. Business contacts provide input from experts in various fields of the business world. This information is utilized in order to keep students aware of new developments and upcoming changes in the business world.
